The Lady Chinook Sugarbeeters basketball team entered this week with a (4-0) record, and they will end this week with a (7-0) record after (67-30) (56-26) (56-30) victories over CJI, Harlem, and Turner.
Friday night Chinook went on the road against Harlem, and after a sluggish (4-2) lead midway through the first quarter, Chinook was able to pull away. Alexus Seymour (16pts) and Hallie Neibauer (13pts) lead the way with seven total players scoring a basket in the victory.
After a short rest the Lady Sugarbeeters took on the Turner Tornadoes Saturday Night, at home in Chinook. Hallie Neibaur (20pts), Alexus Seymour (12pts), and Bree Swanson (11pts) were the top scorers. Chinook went into the 2nd quarter tied (8-8) before outscoring Turner (48-22) the rest of the way to secure the 24-point victory.
The Sugarbeeters have forced 30+ turnovers for their opponents in three straight games, a key factor in their 31-point average margin of victory in the three wins this week. Their next game will be Friday, January 13th when they take on undefeated North Star in what may decide the #1 seed for 9-C.
