CHESTER, Mont. (NMB) – With the nomination deadline for the 2022 election now less than two weeks away, local county races are starting to take shape.
For Liberty County, the one race that is guaranteed to be contested is for Sheriff. Incumbent Republican Nick Erickson will be facing primary challenges from Jim Hofer and Darbie Wentworth.
For Justice of the Peace, Chris Case has filed for the non-partisan position, while incumbent Holly Fredrickson has yet to file.
All other candidate filings to date are from incumbents. They are:
- Clerk & Recorder (R – Davin Buffington)
- District 2 on the County Commission (R – Joette Woods)
- County Attorney (R – Robert Padmous)
- Treasurer (R – Denise Wanken)
- Superintendent of Schools (R – Kathy Armstrong)
The nomination deadline is 5 PM on March 14th.
Primary election day is June 7th, and the General Election will take place on November 8th.
