Havre, MT – The MSU-Northern Lights improved to 10-5 on the season after leaving North Dakota with a pair of close wins.
The Lights first defeated Valley City State 82-75 before taking down Mayville State in double overtime 110-100.
Head Coach of the Lights Shawn Huse said his team showed great poise in in multiple ways to claim the road victories.
“Our guys just kept chipping away. Sometimes you have to exchange punches and that’s one thing we didn’t stop doing was scoring even if they were throwing in some tough shots on us. We just never got to rattled. we had guys stepping up from different spots on the for. How we were finding each other and knocking down free throws and doing all of the little stuff to come out with an edge.” Coach Huse Said.
The Lights had four players score in double figures against Valley City State led by Sayers IV with 22. In the double overtime game at Mayville the Lights had five players with double figure scoring including Sayers IV and Cinque Maxwell with 22pts.
The lights look to build on their 5-4 conference record this weekend at Montana Western and Montana Tech.
