Havre, MT – Montana State University-Northern Lights football start to season has been nothing but ranked opponents.
It began with Carroll College at home who at the time ranked number 20 in the preseason poll. The Lights followed that up with a game at then number five Montana western and back at home against then number 13 Dickinson State. Last week northern was the road at the College of Idaho who was receiving votes and just outside the national top25 rankings.
As of Monday, September 22, there are five Frontier conference schools in the rankings, and Simpson is outside the rankings but receiving votes. Montana Tech is at number six, Montana Western is number nine, Carroll College is 18, Dickinson State is at 20 and the College of Idaho moved up to number 25.
Northern has played four out of those six schools and will play Montana Tech on Saturday, October 11, on Tilleman field following their bye week.
