Havre, MT – Lights basketball earned their fifth conference win on the road in a double overtime thriller 110-100 at Mayville State.
The Lights out scored the Comets 16-6 in the second overtime to claim the 10 point victory.
Head coach of the Lights Shawn Huse said he learned about his team in the win.
“You know just being on a long road trip and having a lot of resilience. I Think their character showed through. It tells me our team has a lot of fight in them and they don’t want to just hang around but they want to get over the hump and actually finish the game out.”
As a team the Lights shot 53.2% from the field and went 21 of 24 from the charity stripe including 8-8 in the final overtime.
Leon Sayers IV and Cinque Maxwell each finished with 22 points while Luke Holecek put up 21 points off the bench.
