HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – MSU-Extension will be hosting a livestock disaster, preparedness and evacuation planning workshop this Thursday from 6-8 PM at the 4-H Chuckwagon at the Great Northern Fairgrounds.
Extension Specialist Jeanne Rankin will present on how to create livestock care, sheltering and evacuation plans in preparation for disasters such as fire, flood, animal and zoonotic disease.
Hill County Extension Agent Colleen Pegar says that many local residents, from members of the public to local officials, would benefit from attending this workshop.
“The whole community is invited. We really encourage our DES Coordinators, veterinarians, police, the Commissioners, anybody involved with livestock, to come and join us. There is no limit on who can come or how many can be there, it’s open to everybody. We’re going to have light refreshments that evening so there will be some snacks there and some really good information.”
The program will be audience driven and interactive once the basics are given.
