Local Airports to Receive Funding Through CARES Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. (NMB) – Senator Jon Tester has announced that through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, 70 Montana airports will receive funding to help cover operational expenses and development projects during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nine Montana airports will receive over $1 million, including Great Falls International Airport, which will receive $3.9 million.

Local airports that will be receiving $30,000 include Havre-City County, Cut Bank International, Fort Benton, Glasgow-Valley County, Lewistown Municipal, Shelby, and L M Clayton in Wolf Point.

Local airports receiving $20,000 are Big Sandy, Conrad, Harlem, Malta, Turner, Winifred, Liberty County in Chester and Edgar G. Obie in Chinook.

The Geraldine Airport will be receiving $1,000.
