Man suspected missing in Glacier Natl Park

A man is suspected to be missing in the Glacier National Park area.

The vehicle of the missing man, identified as Matthew David Read, was found at the trailhead of Huckleberry Trail Sunday. He was thought to start a hike around noon Friday, which was the last time he had been heard from. Rangers received reports on Sunday that he was overdue for his return.

Read is a 19 year old Caucasian male, 5 foot 11 inches, around 210 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He is thought to have been wearing a gray and black Columbia rain jacket and either blue and yellow , or black and red Brooks Glycerin 19 shoes. He may also have been carrying a day pack of unknown color.

After a hasty search on Sunday, Monday morning rangers expanded their search efforts with a party numbering 30 people. Monday morning bore rainy, foggy and cloudy conditions

Upper Huckleberry trail still has winter like conditions, with snow over the trails at higher elevations. The trail is closed due to the search.
