(NMB) The MSU Northern Lights wrestling team continues to prepare for the opening of their season. They had their alumni dual on Saturday and Head Coach Tyson Thivierge said he was happy with the way his team competed. “I thought we competed well. We went out and we were attacking, we weren’t waiting for things to happen. We were in pursuit of offense and scoring take downs. I’m super happy with our performance. That first test, I thought we did a pretty dang good job. There’s some things we need to clean up, but that’s just nit-picky stuff.”
Next up for the Lights is the Maroon/Gold Match and while Coach Thivierge says this will set his line-up for North Idaho it’s also a tune up for some of the little things. “That will set our roster for North Idaho. There’s going to be other opportunities for guys to crak the line-up throughout the year, but this is just that first let’s get a seven-minute match under our belt. Let’s get a scratch weigh in done. It’s just fine-tuning things before we get to North Idaho.”
The 2022/2023 version of the Lights Wrestling team will open the regular season on Friday October 28th, 7pm in the Armory Gym against North Idaho College.
