(Blaine County) The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and its partner, Wickens Construction, will resume the project to reconstruct a portion of US Highway 2 (US 2) between Zurich and Harlem this month.
This project will widen a 7-mile stretch of US 2 between the intersections with Eight Mile Road, 4 miles east of Zurich, and Thirty Mile Road, just west of Harlem. It will include 12-foot travel lanes and 8-foot shoulders, and 2 miles of passing lanes will be added in both directions.
This spring, travelers should expect reduced speeds, single-lane traffic, flaggers, signal lights, pilot cars directing traffic, loose gravel, and rough driving surfaces.
