DENTON, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to announce and invite the public to comment on a proposal to improve approximately 5 miles of Highway MT-81, west of Denton.
The project begins 2 miles east of Coffee Creek and extends southeast for about 5 miles ending at the west side of Denton.
Proposed work includes applying a scrub seal and overlay, finishing with a seal and cover (chip seal), centerline rumble strips, upgraded pavement marking, and signage. The purpose of the project is to extend the life and improve conditions of the road.
The project is currently outside of our five-year tentative construction plan but may be moved depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding. No new Right-of-Way or utility relocations will be needed.
An important part of properly planning for future projects is partnering with the community. The Montana Department of Transportation welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at http://www.mdt.mt.gov/contact/comment-form.aspx or in writing to Montana Department of Transportation, Billings office at PO Box 20437, Billings, MT 59104-0437.
