Meetings surrounding St. Mary Siphon break coming to Malta.

(Malta) The Milk River Irrigation Project has announced they’ll be hosting a Town Hall meeting on July 9th in Malta to give more details about the recent failure of the St Mary Siphon on June 17th.

The Joint Board of Control will also have their regularly scheduled meeting today at 6:00pm but have said that details will be scarce on the failure because it’s too early to determine next steps.

They also report that there are breaches in the buildings at Hooks Hideaway, and are working together with the Blackfeet Tribe, who own the land, to restore access and provide a new road to the facilities

The cause of the break hasn’t yet been assessed, although it’s worth noting that the break occurred on infrastructure that is reportedly over 110 years old.
