(Missoula) Missoula Food Bank & Community Center (MFB&CC) is anticipating a reduction in a critical source of food after the USDA confirmed that $500 million in previously announced Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) purchases have been permanently canceled.
Food Bank officials say TEFAP plays a vital role in ensuring families facing food insecurity have access to nutritious food by moving surplus products from farms to food banks and, ultimately, to the tables of our neighbors in need.
The MFB says that despite these challenges, they remain confident in their ability to keep their shelves stocked and their doors open, serving every neighbor who access their programs.
