(Phillips County) Hunters looking to visit the Missouri Breaks this year may find some of their previous spots unavailable.
Montana’s Fish, Wildlife and Parks agency says that Hunting Districts 410 and 417 are now permit-only hunting zones, and district 426 will become a permit only zone for the last two weeks of the hunting season.
The FWP says that this is being done as mule deer populations has become very limited in the area over the last 4 years following drought years and a bad 2022-2023 winter.
