Montana Attorney General on Efforts Against Human Trafficking

(Havre) – On July 14th Attorney General Austin Knudsen launched a television PSA in hopes of combating human trafficking in Montana. Attorney General Knudsen Talks about other efforts taken to combat the problem.

“We’re constantly trying to beef up our State Human Trafficking Bureau. I mean, we’re doing a lot of undercover work, there’s a lot of sting operations there’s a lot of task force work. Those agents are working with local law enforcement they’re working with federal law enforcement, and they’re taking down large rings. These are not unsophisticated networks that are trafficking in mostly young girls this is disgusting vile stuff it’s very difficult work but they’re doing a great job and we’re going to keep pushing for that kind of stuff because I think this is a much bigger problem in Montana than anybody probably realizes or maybe has wanted to realize in a long time and we’re taking it serious. I want to send a message to traffickers that this is not a place to do business. You don’t want to come to Montana.”
