Montana Congress urges VA to “reconsider” suspected upcoming staff cuts.

(Montana) All members of the Montana Congressional Delegation issued a letter to the VA last week urging it to reconsider suspected upcoming staffing cuts.

Earlier this month, CNN released an article saying an anonymous sources and VA documents both corroborate an upcoming staffing cut of frontline health care and mental health staff.

This is separate from the VA’s previous announcement that it would cut it’s workforce by nearly 10 thousand, as that cut would be done “mostly through attrition” according to the VA.

In a written statement, VA spokesperson Terrence Hayes said, quote “after a record year of hiring, we now have the largest health care workforce in history.” end quote, but did not answer any questions around staffing layoffs or cuts.
