Montana National Guard Solider Becomes First Woman to Graduate Sniper Course

FORT HARRISON, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana National Guard has announced that a Montana Soldier has become the first woman to graduate from the U.S. Army Sniper Course in Georgia.

The military is not identifying the Soldier by name at this time. She enlisted into the Montana Army National Guard in December 2020 and was sent to Fort Benning to complete a 22-week Infantry One Station Unit Training Course.

Due to her superior performance, she was given the opportunity to attend the Sniper Course, which included qualifying as an expert shooter. The Solider began the seven-week Sniper Course in September and graduated on November 5th.

With the completion of training, the Soldier will join her unit.
