HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Montana National Guard is limiting base access for all facilities with a temporary closed building policy that is effective immediately as of March 24.
Director of Joint Staff, Brigadier General Jeff Ireland said, “Due to the continued spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Montana National Guard is taking more aggressive measures to protect our force while ensuring our ability to maintain military operations.”
Along with this temporary closure, the Montana National Guard fitness facilities will also be closed until further notice.
Ireland said, “We understand that these changes will impact many individuals however, they are deemed necessary to maintain the health of our force. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we continue to address this aggressive virus and work to implement appropriate safety precautions throughout our organization.”
Only individuals carrying a common access card or a state employee identification card will be able to access Montana National Guard facilities and installations. Contractors in need of accessing a facility must first get vetted by the Construction Facilities Maintenance Office and individuals in need of facility access must first submit a request.
