HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services reported 1,194 new COVID-19 cases in their Thursday morning update, the second day in a row topping the 1,000 mark.
The number of confirmed cases of the Omicron variant in the state is up to 84 as of Tuesday, with cases having been identified in 22 counties, including locally in Hill, Blaine, Chouteau and Fergus Counties.
After reporting 314 new cases on Tuesday and 252 on Wednesday, Gallatin County once again led the way with 294 new cases. Missoula County reported 192 new cases of the virus on Thursday, followed by Lewis and Clark with 97, Yellowstone with 87, Ravalli with 83, Flathead with 74, and Cascade with 67.
Montana’s COVID-19 death toll is up to 2,916, with 146 Montanans currently hospitalized with COVID-19 and over 5,400 known active cases of the virus in the state.
