(Helena) A man, who previously resided in Beaverhead County, was sentenced to 108 months in federal prison for trafficking meth and fentanyl across southwest Montana.
Owen David James pleaded guilty in November 2024 to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances.
In September 2023, agents with the Southwest Montana Drug Task Force arrested James after finding he was trafficking drugs from Washington state to Butte. The investigation revealed he was in possession of approximately 800 grams of meth, approximately 2,000 fentanyl pills, and a stolen handgun.
