(NMB) The Montana Stock Growers Association will hold their 139th Midyear meeting in Havre June 13th through the 15th. Big Sandy Rancher and North Central Division Director of the Montana Stock Growers Association Rich Roth tells us a little about what the MSGA does.
“The Montana Stock Growers Association has been around for one hundred thirty-five years. We are grassroots, non-profit organization and really, we’re all about basically making sure that ranching stays viable and sustainable through the generations. I mean we’re always out there trying to kind of make sure that we are aways feeding the world or at least helping people do that.” -Roth
The Midyear meeting is one of two meetings held to set association policy that guides the association through the year.
The bulk of the meeting will be held on the campus of MSU Northern and Roth says there will be plenty of things to go over.
“Probably a few of the biggest things that they’re going to be going through, you know, we went through legislative session this year so, there will be a big update on all the things that Stockgrowers are involved in and all the ag policy issues and things like that, that affect what we do here on a daily basis. So, that will certainly be covered.” -Roth
Attendees can also expect keynote addresses from ag industry leaders and will have an opportunity to tour Havre including the Northern Ag Research Center and Havre Beneath the Streets.
