Montana VA Urges Firework Awareness for Veterans with PTSD

HELENA, Mont. — As Independence Day approaches, the Montana VA is encouraging all Montanans to be mindful of veterans living with PTSD.

Fireworks can trigger anxiety, flashbacks, and sleep issues for some veterans.

Officials recommend discussing firework plans with neighbors, especially outside of July 4th, and suggest veterans use support systems, earplugs, or white noise.

Veterans in need of help can contact the Montana VA or call the Veterans Crisis Line at 988 and press 1.
