MSU Extension hosting caregiver retreat event.

(Havre) The Montana State University Extension Office is putting on a Caregiver Respite Retreat on April 18th.

New Media Broadcasters spoke with Kati Purkett, MSU Family and Consumer Science Extension Agent, to ask for more information.

“What we’re looking for is caregivers within the community that just need a little bit of a break. So, a respite retreat offers an opportunity for all caregivers to get together, have some comradery. We work on some self-care techniques, and each of the caregivers will receive a one-hundred-dollar gift card to help cover the cost of bringing another care giver in in your absence, or for your own self care.”

Purkett said that while registration for this event is free, registration is required to attend. Those interested in attending can register by calling Purkett at 406 400 2333.

The event will be from 10am to 3pm at the Best Western Plus Great Nothern Inn, across from Duck Inn.
