MSU-N Rodeo Gets Havre Blue Pony

Another Havre High Blue Pony committed to Montana State University-Northern recently. This time, it was the rodeo team that picked up a standout as Cassandra Gibson is signed to compete for the Skylights in the dirt.

Gibson, who stands 5-foot-1, will compete in both team roping and goat tying after she did rodeo and wrestling in high school.

“I have lived here my whole life and it means a lot to me to be able to continue my education surrounded by family and friends,” Gibson said in a press release.

There has been notoriety in Gibson throughout her rodeo career as she ascended to a state champion to close out last season. She’s been on the big stage for her accolades, competing in the National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR) in goat tying.

She has also represented the Treasure State on a national level with the Montana National Rodeo team. She is the No. 2 rodeo participant in the state heading into her senior year.

“I chose MSUN because I want to represent my hometown and have the support of this amazing community,” Gibson said. “MSUN also has an excellent women’s rodeo team that I am excited to be a part of.”
