Both MSU-Northern basketball teams released their 2024-25 regular season schedules earlier this week.
The Skylights will take on NCAA Division II powerhouse MSU-Billings in Choteau to begin play on Oct. 27. The Lights’s season opener will be in Billings the following week against Embry- Riddle (Arizona) on Nov. 2. After road trips for the Skylights to Great Falls and the Lights to Helena for tournaments, the teams will finally have the home opener on Nov. 18 against former future Frontier Conference foe Dickinson State.
Once again, MSU-Northern basketball is going to Arizona the week before Christmas. The Lights start that week playing in the nearby Phoenix suburb of Chandler, while the Skylights will be in Phoenix to round out the desert campaign.
Doubleheaders for both teams start to pick up after Christmas as the Armory Gym will host Canadian teams to close out 2024. Frontier Conference play officially gets underway with the Lights and Skylights hosting Montana Western on Sat, Jan. 4. With expansion kicking in after the season, the final six-team Frontier Conference basketball tournament will be held at the Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls from Mar. 2-4.
