Montana State University-Northern Rodeo competed over the weekend in Dillon. The Skylights finished first with a score of 475. Here are the individual results from the Big Sky Region Rodeo No. 5:
For the Skylights, Mikenna Schauer continued her dominant run this season, winning in the breakaway roping (5.1 seconds), goat tying (14.1 seconds), and finishing with an all-around first place score of 340 points. According to the rodeo team, this is the fifth time that Schauer has taken home the prize in Dillon for her performances in breakaway roping.
Kenda Statham placed second in goat tying (14.4 seconds), while Olivia Parsonage was in fourth place in breakaway roping.
For the Lights, Garrett Cunningham was awarded another top-finish in Saddle Bronc, placing second with a score of 140 and keeping his overall score as the best Saddle Bronc rider in the country. Chance Story was fifth in Steer Wrestling at 10.8 seconds.
The MSU-N Rodeo teams will have extensive time off now before college competition gets back underway with a trip to Montana State University in Bozeman from Apr 11-14.
