MSU-Northern Rodeo Results – MSU Spring Rodeo Day 2

The MSU-Northern Lights and Skylights rodeo teams continued competition on Friday night in Bozeman for the MSU Spring rodeo. Here are some notable individual results from Northern:

LONG GO

The top saddle bronc rider in the region, senior Garrett Cunningham, took top prize with a 76, giving Northern 6o points. Senior Ethan Frasier earned 40 points for his team with a third-place finish in the bareback riding. Junior Chance Story did the steer wrestling in 5.1 seconds and finished fifth, getting 20 team points.

Sophomore Kenda Statham finished second in goat tying, getting 50 points in the process for MSU-N at 6.7 seconds. Junior Georgia Orahood was tied for third, .2 seconds off the pace, which slotted her team 35 points. She also did the breakway roping in 2.5 seconds, good for second place and another 50 points. After a first-place showing on Thursday night in team roping, Orahood and UM’s Brad McLean came in third on Friday night, doing the event in 7.4 seconds.

SHORT GO

Fraiser received fourth in the bareback with a score of 61, which garnished 30 points. Junior Brittney Cox placed for the first time, finishing sixth in barrel racing at 15.17 seconds and receiving 10 team points.

The second spring rodeo will start at 7pm Saturday night from Worthington Arena.
