Havre, MT – The MSU-Northern Rodeo team has officially wrapped up its 2026 fall season following its final rodeo this past weekend, shifting its focus toward preparation for the upcoming spring season.
Head Coach Doug Kallenberger spoke with NMB Sports about the importance of the fall season in establishing a foundation for the spring rodeos and giving athletes an opportunity to continue developing.
“The fall season is a good kickoff. There’s only four of them, so the good thing is we’re not even halfway through. In the spring, there’s still six more rodeos,” Kallenberger said.
Kallenberger also emphasized the value of the offseason, noting that the break provides athletes with time to recover, refine their skills, and prepare for the remainder of the competition schedule.
“To heal up and get better and have all winter to practice on some things and continue to get better is a big thing. It’ll be nice, and we can’t wait for those six rodeos in the spring,” Kallenberger said.
While the team turns its attention to the spring season, MSU-Northern will also be represented in Las Vegas this weekend, as Talan Cummins and Kenzie Kallenberger are set to compete at the INFR.
