Safe Streets and Roads for All Safety Action Plan Finalized

(Havre) – The City of Havre, in partnership with Hill County and the Montana Department of Transportation, has completed a draft of the Safe Streets and Roads for All Safety Action Plan. The federal grant-funded plan outlines potential strategies to enhance safety and accessibility for motorists, commercial operators, bicyclists, and pedestrians in the greater Havre area. Proposed upgrades include intersection modifications, turn lanes, and sidewalk improvements.

An informational meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 15th, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Havre City Hall Council Chambers. A virtual option will also be available on Zoom, with registration available online. Following the meeting, the draft will be posted online for further public comment. The finalized plan is expected to be presented to the Havre City Council for adoption in early December.

Havre Public Works Director Trevor Mork says the plan allows the community to look at transportation safety from a broad perspective and encourages residents to provide feedback.
