The MSU-Northern Skylights volleyball team couldn’t gain any more momentum on Saturday night as the squad fell in four sets to the University of Providence in Great Falls.
Northern did continue their streak of winning the second set for a fifth consecutive match, (25-22). The team also played a competitive first set, but came out on the wrong end of it, (23-25). The third set saw seven lead changes, a growing lead for the Skylights, and a comeback by the Argos that saw them go on a (6-1) run to win, (27-25). Providence ended up taking the fourth set, (25-10).
For the Skylights, Lexa Stock led the team in game kills for the first time this season with 16, which was also a game-high. Macee Murphy recorded a team-high 25 assists.
Northern (10-13, 2-6 in the Frontier Conference) will play two games this upcoming week with another road test on Wednesday at Carroll College and then back home for Senior and Parents night with Rocky Mountain College coming to Havre on Saturday night.
