The MSU-Northern Wrestling team had its first dual against opposition on Saturday when they went to North Idaho College. The Lights were able to win half of the matches while they were there. Here are some notable results:
At 149 pounds, the No. 5 wrestler in the NAIA, Martin Wilkie won by decision, (10-3). At 157 pounds, Justin Windauer won by decision, (10-3). At 174 pounds, the No. 2 wrestler in the NAIA Nakoda Siegel won by technical fall, (21-6, 6:27). At 184 pounds, Rylin Burns won by decision, (11-7). At 197 pounds, Carl Hansen won by decision, (7-3).
Northern will head to Powell, Wyoming for the Trapper Open with competition taking place all day on Saturday.
