On Monday, the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) came out with its 2024 All-Region teams for NAIA women’s volleyball, as chosen by the NAIA Selection Committee. The Frontier Conference was well represented with MSU-Northern product Alana Graves on the list as an honorable mention for the Northwest Region.
The senior middle blocker for the Skylights continued to rack up the awards, having been named First Team All-Conference as well for the 2024 season. Graves finished her career with 1,289 kills and 351 blocks. She was joined by four other Frontier Conference players as honorable mentions. The overall list for the Frontier ballooned to 10 players, which was amongst the most for any NAIA conference.
The AVCA broke down its process, dividing up the honors into 10 regions and having each region name 14 players as All-Region team members, while eight players were on each list as honorable mentions. Providence picked up the Regional Player of the Year in setter Bella Thompson and the Regional Assistant Coach of the Year in Sacha Simmons, as well as two first-teamers and two honorable mentions.
