Montana State track and field standouts Duncan Hamilton, Drake Schneider, and Elena Carter have been named outstanding outdoor track athletes of the year, according to Dale Kennedy Director of Track and Field, Lyle Weese.
Hamilton, a product of Bozeman High, finished fourth in the 3000 meter steeplechase at the USA Track and Field Championships in June. He also won a Big Sky Conference title in steeplechase and finished second at the NCAA Championships.
Schneider, from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, finished his career as a Bobcat by winning his fourth straight Big Sky 400 meter hurdle title as well as by receiving All-American honors after placing sixth at the NCAA Championships.
And Carter, a junior from Helena, was huge for the Bobcats at the Big Sky Outdoor Championships as she won the 100 meter hurdles and ran the opening leg for the 4×100 meter relay team which won gold in an MSU record-breaking performance.
