(Bozeman) – Montana State University has been selected to host the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program once again for the western region.
SARE is the premier producer led research and education grant program in the US for sustainable agriculture. MSU’s host term is for ten years, to begin October 1. Over the tenure, SARE will allocate $100 million in grant funding for producers and researchers. The goal is to advance sustainability with investement in groundbreaking research and education leading to improved profitability, stewardship, and quality of life.
The SARE program is based on sustaining economy, ecology and social aspects. MSU was originally selected to host the program for a five year term in 2018.
Western SARE is the largest of the four regions, and covers 13 states, American Samoa, the Northern
Mariana Islands, Micronesia and Guam. This makes the region the most diverse region, in terms of ecology and ethnicity.
