One of the most elegant events on the Hi Line is happening this Saturday. For the first time since Covid people can attend the MSU- Northern Ball.
Al Garver the Executive Director of the MSUN Foundation explains what people can expect when attending the ball.
“So, when people come to the ball, they’ll come in on a red carpet and get a complimentary digital photograph portrait, and then we have a cocktail hour from 6 to 7. From 7 to 8:30 is the dinner, and we have a three-course wine pairing dinner. So, it is a gourmet dinner that we have selected three wines to pair with the appetizer, main course, and desert, and so your taste buds are going to pop. Then during those three courses we’re going to do some live auctions of some very special items.”-Al Garver
Beyond the delicious food and live auctions talented entertainment will be performing. Al Garver explains more…
“When we transition into the Ball at 8:30 we have this amazing eight-piece swing jazz ensemble from Billings, and they’re going to be incredible, but we also have dance presentations for some of that music. So, you get to see WW2 swing dancing, some jive, some foxtrot, and so then the dancers will come out and start dancing to demonstrate and then if people want to join them, they can.” -Al Garver
Overall, the goal of the Ball is to generate scholarship funds for MSUN students.
“Our goal is to raise $50,000 for Northern scholarships and that’s for students with academic need and just merit based. So, it gives us the ability to put scholarship money in holes and gaps where there isn’t scholarship money.” -Al Garver
