Over the weekend the MSU-Northern Skylights basketball team was able to make a big signing.
Taniyah Finney, a 5’5 guard out of Imhotep High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Finney helped Imhotep to back-to-back Philadelphia Public League titles in 2021 & 2022. In 2022, she was named First Team All-Public League.
Head Coach Chris Mouat spoke about what Finney could bring to the team.
“Shes a shooter. I think our three-point percentage right now is not anywhere where it needs to be for us to be successful. She’s a shooter and we need people who can make some threes. She’s a fairly complete guard, and she’s just a freshman coming in out of high school. We feel really fortunate to get her. One of the people I work with in recruiting out there, and helped me with Bri, is a pretty good guy. He and I have been talking about her for over a year now. We were very well aware of her when she popped back open.” – Mouat
