HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Montana Department of Labor (MDL) announced this week they have issued 35,000 Unemployment Insurance payments and have started paying the additional $600 benefit provided under the CARES Act.
Acting Commissioner Brenda Nordlund said, “Over the last week alone, we put more than $11.6 million into people’s pockets and Montana’s economy.”
MDL’s issued payments show a 44% increase of payment output when compared to previous weeks.
Nordlund said, “We are working as hard as we can to make sure that everyone receives their benefits as quickly as possible. This is an important step in employing the assistance provided as part of the CARES Act.”
MDL urges the public to file for unemployment benefits as soon as they become unemployed and asks for everyone’s patience during this time.
