NAMI Havre Hosting Numerous Classes

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre chapter of NAMI, the National Alliance for Mental Illness, is continuing to assist the community by providing resources and classes at no cost.

Havre chapter President Crystal Laufer says that they have more than a handful of classes scheduled for April, including a four-hour seminar called Family and Friends that informs people who have loved ones with a mental health condition how to best support them, on the 6th from noon to 4 PM.

“It’s kind of a kickoff for people to get interested in taking Family to Family, the whole 12 week class. That will start the 13th of April, that’s an eight week class which goes from 12-2 PM. And then In Our Own Voice, our people that do that class will start it on May 3rd. That’ll be anywhere from 60-90 minutes depending on the questions that everybody has.”

Laufer says they offer free childcare during all of their classes.

“Kids are not a problem. Bring ’em, we’ll take care of them while you’re in our class.”

On April 16th from 9 AM-2 PM, they will be holding an open house.
