NARC to Host Winter Beef Symposium in January

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – A Winter Beef Symposium will be held next month at the Northern Agricultural Research Center near Havre. A press release says that you can attend one or both of the sessions, which will take place on Thursday, January 10th and Thursday, January 24th from 11 AM to 3:40 PM each day.

The topics at the January 10th meeting include control of small animal vertebrates, weak calf syndrome, winter feed supplementation and grazing patterns, risks and opportunities in current cattle markets, and EPD’s for commercial cattle operations.

The topics for January 24th include cover crops and cattle grazing, cheatgrass control and weed invaders, beef cattle 3rd trimester nutrition, weak calf syndrome from a vet perspective and USDA FSA programs for livestock.
