(Helena)—The Office of the Montana State Auditor has announced the appointment of Amber Thorvilson, CPA, as Deputy State Auditor. The Deputy Auditor position is the second highest position in the agency. Thorvilson will assist Auditor James in operating the agency on a daily basis.
Thorvilson brings more than 15 years of leadership experience in state financial management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance. She has held key roles in Montana government, including Chief Financial Officer at the Office of the Montana State Auditor and senior management positions with the Departments of Corrections and Administration. Throughout her successful career, Thorvilson has overseen multimillion-dollar budgets, strengthened internal controls, led health plan data analysis, and advanced operational efficiency through technology-driven initiatives.
