New Medicaid Housing Support Service Launched Under HEART Program

HELENA, Mont. — Governor Greg Gianforte has announced a new Medicaid-funded service to help Montanans with behavioral health needs secure and maintain housing.

Part of the HEART initiative, the program offers support with locating housing, managing landlord relationships, and connecting to community resources.

While it doesn’t cover rent, it does assist with application fees and security deposits.

The program targets Medicaid-eligible individuals who are homeless or at risk and adds to other HEART services launching this year, including reentry supports and contingency management for addiction.
