Helena – The Governor’s Office of Community Service is pleased to announce that a Donate Life Montana license plate is now available. The license plate highlights the role and importance of organ, eye, and tissue donation in Montana. Proceeds will increase public awareness and education, encourage individuals to register as donors, honor families of lost loved ones during Donate Life month, and will support the Threshold of Life Memorial.
The specialty plate is available in all 56 counties for $20 cost. This year, when you are renewing your plates or registering a new vehicle, look for the Donate Life plate to support the Threshold of Life Memorial honoring all Montana organ, eye, and tissue donors, living and passed.
In Montana on any given day, nearly 200 individuals are waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. Each registered donor can save 8 lives and enhance healing 75 more through eye and tissue donation. Eighty-six percent of Montanans are registered donors, significantly higher than the national average of 56%.
