(NMB) Northern Montana Health Care has been notified of a recent data security incident involving one of their business partners, Wakefield & Associates, LLC. Wakefield provides account services to NMHC and recently experienced a data breach affecting certain files within their systems.
Wakefield has informed NMHC that they are sending letters directly to any individuals whose personal information may have been involved. If you receive a letter from Wakefield & Associates, it is a legitimate notice and contains important information about the incident and steps you can take to protect your information. If you do not receive a letter from Wakefield, your information was not part of the data breach and requires no further action.
NMHC is not sending individual notices to patients regarding this matter. All communication will come directly from Wakefield. The letter will include details about the data involved and complimentary credit monitoring services being offered.
In their press release, Northern Montana Health Care said “protecting your personal information is of utmost importance. NMHC takes privacy and data security very seriously and is working closely with Wakefield to ensure all appropriate steps are being taken to safeguard information moving forward.”
