Northern Drops Third Straight to Ranked Opponint

Havre, MT – Saturday after noon Montana State University-Northern fell to No.13 Dickinson State at Tilleman field 33-16.

Northern gave up two touchdowns in first and second quarters. However, in the second quarter sophomore quarterback Kendal O’Neil found Isaiah Woodley down the sideline for a 48 yard touchdown reception.

O’Neil got the start for Northern in the absence of starter Ashton Platt who got hurt against Montana Western last week.

O’Neil threw for 156 yards in his first start for one touchdown and one interception. Roman Bradley ran for 44 yards and the lone second half touchdown as the primary back for Northern.

Northern’s defense stepped up in the second half only allowing one field goal. However the Blue Hawks of Dickinson state tackled Ala’i Williams in the end zone for a safety midway threw the fourth quarter.

Northern falls to 0-3 on the year, all three NAIA top-25 opponents. The Lights are the road next week at the College of Idaho. Kickoff is at noon and you can listen on your home of the MSU-Northern athletics, KPQX.
