MSU-Northern started a busy weekend on the mat, splitting duals on Friday in La Grande, OR by beating the Evergreen State College, (43-6), but then losing to Eastern Oregon University, (28-12).
No. 12 Travis Waldner picked up another win on his campaign at 165 pounds, getting dual victories over both the Geoducks and the Mountaineers. He was one of two Lights to go undefeated on the day, joining Austin Vanek, who saw only one contest at 197 pounds after Evergreen forfeited and then wrestling to a technical fall against EOU. Kolten Powers (125 pounds) and Caleb Ishmael (149 pounds) were also winners against the Evergreen State College, while Justin Windauer fought for a victory against Eastern Oregon at 157 pounds.
Northern will be back on the mat against lots of competition at the Spokane Open in Washington state all day on Sunday.
