The Havre Northstars fell to Great Falls Chargers Wednesday (6-5) in what was a battle throughout. The game was tied (5-5) heading into the 7th inning, before an error by Havre’s defense left the 3rd a free runner for the game winning score from third base.
The game began (2-1) Great Falls after the first inning, with both teams remaining scoreless the next 2 innings. Havre scored one run in the fourth to tie it all up (2-2) heading into the fifth inning.
Havre notched three runs in the fifth inning, led by Jevin Jenkins and Terek Shipp with RBIs in the inning. Great Falls pitcher Nate Redenbaugh earned the win allowing zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out one and walking zero. Jevin Jenkins started at the mound for the Northstars, going three innings, allowing two runs on two hits with one strikeout.
Havre tallied six hits in the ball game. Drake Berreth and Terek Shipp each racked up two hits in the loss. The Northstars will look to recover from the very close loss Saturday May 13th, when they travel to Bozeman to take on the Bucks and Laurel Dodgers in a double-header.
