The Havre Northstars American Legion Baseball Team is gearing up to host their Jamboree Tournament this weekend at Legion Field.
Northstars Manager Patch Wirtzberger says the jamboree features five excellent teams, which should result in competitive matchups.
“Five really good teams in this tournament. Should be great baseball all weekend long. The weather is looking really good, at least for Friday and Saturday, and concessions will be open. We have a beer garden up there available for this tournament. And excited to show the community what Havre Youth Baseball can bring here, tournament-wise.”
As for the Northstars, they are coming off a split doubleheader on Tuesday against Lewistown. The second game saw Havre win in 11 innings, with eighth grader Ezra Pyle having a breakout performance, as he had three hits, a walk, and an RBI.
“His potential is off the charts. He’s a great athlete, he works really hard in the offseason, works really hard at practice. And in that game, he gave us a lot on offense. And we know what he can do on defense. Very talented. Excited for the future with Ezra, and if he keeps on working hard, the sky is the limit.”
The Northstars will play four games over three days. They take on Miles City at 6 PM Friday, Glendive at 8:30 PM Friday, Gallatin Valley at 7:30 PM Saturday, and a team from Calgary on Sunday at 2 PM.
The Jamboree starts at 3 PM on Friday, noon on Saturday, and 9 AM on Sunday.
