(NMB) After dropping their first conference game of the year on Wednesday, the Havre Northstars bounced back with a conference win, a 7 to 0 shutout over the Great Falls Chargers on Thursday. Havre scored four runs in the first inning on an error and RBI singles from Teegan Solomon and MIchael Thompson. They would add 3 more runs in the second inning highlighted by a Tanner DeLarosa single.
Chasson Mader was good on the mound, going all seven innings, giving up two hits and striking out seven Great Falls Hitters. DeLarosa and Thompson each had two hits for Havre and Tommy Lewis drove in two runs.
The Northstas will compete in the Harold Gjerde (Jerdy) tournament through Sunday in Lewistown. They’ll play twice on Friday vs Butte and Miles City. Once on Saturday against Miles City. Games on Sunday will be determined on Pool Play.
Havre currently sits at 18-8 and 1 and 9 and 1 in North District play.
