Havre, MT – The Northstars season has come to end with the team on the road in Medicine Hat for a double header against the Knights. The Knights took control to win both games 6-1 in game one and 9-8 in game two.
Havre struggled at the plate the in game one as the team combined for three total hits and Quinn Elliot knocked in the only RBI scoring Teegan Brandon.
Game too was completely different ball game at the plate for Havre. The game was tied at one after the first inning but the Havre defense stepped up only allowing 2 more runs. The Northstar offense put up two more runs in each of the second, fifth, and sixth innings with one run in the seventh to lead 8-2 entering the bottom of seventh.
However, Medicine Hat dug deep and found a spark late to tie the game up (8-8). With 2 outs, one runner on first base and a hit to center field scored the securing run for the Knights and giving Havre the double loss.
The losses the Northstars finish the season 35-14-1 and end north district play 26-6. The record however, still good enough to win the district by four games, is goal that Coach Divish said the team set in the preseason.
