(NMB) The Havre Northstars American Legion Baseball team was on the Diamond Saturday and Sunday and won 3 of four games against the Billings Expos. Havre won by scores of 8-3, 11-0 and 8-2. The lone loss was 4-3. Head coach of The North Stars Patch Wirtzberger likes the way his team is progressing early in the year. “I think we are coming along nicely. Our pitching has been obviously very good, that’s keeping us in games. Defense needs to improve if we’re going to accomplish the goals that these guys have set in front of themselves, but our approaches at the plate have been really good. So, proud of the boys.
The Northstars are 4 and 2 on the year. Up next are games Saturday in Great Falls against the Great Falls Chargers and the Bozeman Bucks. Havre will be in Kalispell Sunday for a double header against the Kalispell Lakers The Northstars return home for their alumni Game and Dinner Fundraiser Friday Evening May 13th. at 6:30 at Legion Field.
